Mariah Carey loses 30 pounds of baby weight, is new face of Jenny Craig diet program (Video)

Mariah Carey has been announced as the latest Brand Ambassador for the Jenny Craig company and says she has lost 30 pounds since starting its weight loss and diet program in late July, three months after she gave birth to twins.

The 41-year-old singer showed off her slimmer figure on Tuesday's episode of "The Rosie Show," Rosie O'Donnell's talk show, which airs on Oprah Winfrey's OWN cable network. She was lowered onto the stage on a crescent moon-shaped prop. Two men in suits then helped her up and escorted her to O'Donnell, who gave her a hug.

Carey and husband Nick Cannon, 31, welcomed son and daughter Moroccan and Monroe in April. Carey, whose height spans 5-foot-9-inches, has not revealed how much weight she gained during her pregnancy. She said in a video interview with OWN personality Gayle King, which was provided by Jenny Craig, that she avoided looking at the numbers of the scale when she was weight at the doctor's office.

"The nurse who was taking my weight when I went for my check-ups (during my pregnancy) ... she was like, if you don't want to look, you don't have to," Carey told King. "And I was like, 'I won't.' I knew it was a number that I never want to see again. Huge! Enormous!"

"I was a pregnant wreck," she added. "I just passed a pregnant woman on the way in here. I was like in my mind, 'You're going to get through it."

Her twins weight six pounds when they were born, she said.

"I had a lot of health issues," she said about her pregnancy. "I had like no bones for a while. I was like, 'What happened to my clavicle? It wasn't that I so much .. the over-eating. Maybe the portions weren't what they should have been. I've never had a scale (at home). The last time I weighed myself .. was when the "My All" single was out. That was the last time I had a true understanding of my weight."

The song was released in 1998 and was featured on Carey's sixth studio album, "Butterfly."

The singer said she was approached by three other weight loss and diet companies before speaking to officials at Jenny Craig.

"Some of the suitors have great ! money, h ave great things and what ever it is that their concepts are," she said. "I didn't really connect with the people. The first time I spoke with the executives at Jenny ... we really clicked. I felt like it was a different world than the other people I'd been speaking with. They have a broader vision, particularly with the American Heart Association."

She says she hopes to lose more weight on the Jenny Craig program.

Cannon said last month that Carey was working hard to get in shape. He told Us Weekly: "I personally think she's going to come out looking better - looking like it's 1990! "I think that's what she's aiming for, and I think she'll reach that goal."

The magazine features Carey and her post-pregnancy body on the cover of its latest issue.

Carey herself has Tweeted about her attempts to work off the baby weight. In August, she posted a photo of herself in a bathing suit saying, "Ocean work out! It's been a loooong time since I've been in the ocean."

The Grammy-winning singer said she has also been taking long walks with her five Jack Russell terriers - Cha Cha, Jackie Lambchops, Jill E. Beans, Squeak E. Beans and JJ.

Other celebrities who have served as Jenny Craig spokesmodels include alerie Bertinelli, "Star Wars" star Carrie Fisher, who dropped 50 pounds, and actress Sara Rue, who said she lost 50 pounds on the program.

Kirstie Alley won praise in 2006 when she showed off a slimmer bikini body on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" after losing 75 pounds on the Jenny Craig program. She later regained the weight and then slimmed down again. She launched her own weight loss product line called Organic Liaison and said in September that she has lost 100 pounds.
