Mariah Carey reveals post baby body after twins: Weight loss down to diet and exercise

She gave birth to twins just six short months ago.
But already Mariah Carey says she has shed an incredible 70lbs (5st).
The 42-year-old singer made the revelation during an appearance on Rosie O'Donnell's OWN television programme, The Rosie Show.

Arriving in style, being lowered onto the stage on a crescent shaped moon, the songstress proudly showed off her figure in a skin-tight black mini skirt and a cleavage-baring leather jacket.
She went on to reveal that she has dropped an incredible 70lbs over recent months - with 40lbs being water loss due to a difficult pregnancy.
Mariah, who is married to America's Got Talent host Nick Cannon, gave birth to twins Moroccan and Monroe on April 30, the couple's third wedding anniversary.

Speaking to Rosie, she explained of her fight back to form: 'In the beginning, when I first had the babi! es, I ha d so much edema water and swelling.
'Most pregnant woman have that just in their feet,' she explained.
'One day I was doing my thank-you notes and I noticed it started rising up the leg, so I had edema. I didn't think I would ever be the same person.'
After shedding some initial weight, Mariah started the strict Jenny diet plan, for which she is now a spokeswoman.

She said: 'The first week, I lost 40 lbs. of just water. It was just water, initially. When I started with the programme, I lost at least 30 lbs of weight that needed to be lost.'
Carey said it was not just appearance that gave her the motivation to get back into shape.
Daily tasks, such as going to the bathroom, was also difficult for the diva.
She went on: 'I had a really tough pregnancy. I was supposed to be on bed rest, but it was so bad that even bed hurt.
'I learned a lot being pregnant, watching my body change.'

She added: 'The whole point of this is ! not just like: "Oh, hey, look at me and my weight loss, I'm fantastic." It's really health.'
Mariah was not able to exercise early after giving birth because she had a Cesarean section.
'The diet is 90 percent of it,' she told Rosie.
She eats calorie controlled meals, including soups, and also did gentle exercise - walking her dogs and doing workouts in the ocean.
And rather than weighing herself constantly, she would judge her progress based on how she fitted her clothes.
