Mariah Carey - Mariah Carey Cancels Tv Appearance After Whitney Houston's Death
Singer Mariah Carey pulled out of a U.S. TV interview on Valentine's Day (14Feb12) to grieve the loss of her friend Whitney Houston.
The Hero hitmaker was due to appear on Good Morning America on Tuesday to discuss her role as a spokesperson for diet firm Jenny Craig and chat about losing weight after giving birth to twins.
However, Carey pulled out of the appearance, telling producers she was still too upset about Houston's tragic passing on Saturday (11Feb12).
Her representative explains, "Mariah is still mourning the death of her friend and collaborator Whitney Houston and thought it was too soon to appear on TV to discuss anything else."
Carey, who duetted with Houston on 1998 tune When You Believe, posted a tribute to the late singer on her Twitter.com page on Sunday (12Feb12).
She wrote, "Heartbroken and in tears over the shocking death of my friend, the incomparable Ms. Whitney Houston. My heartfelt condolences to Whitney's family and to all her millions of fans throughout the world. She will never be forgotten as one of the greatest voices to ever grace the earth."
