Mariah Carey has turned into the Green-Eyed Monster when it comes to Britney Spears landing a $15 million contract to judge The X Factor the same gig for which Mariah was up just last year.
You think I focus on that stuff? Have we met? the 42-year-old mega star told EXTRA, somewhat bitterly, at a Project Canvas event in New York May 14.
After realizing her comment was less than friendly, Mariah recanted, adding, I love her, honestly, I think shes a very nice person, but I dont care whos going on that show as long as its not me.
Originally, Simon Cowell was reportedly in talks with Mariah to judge. However, the deal never came to fruition and now Britney, 30, is the shows new shining star.
