Cheryl Cole Admits She's No Match For Mariah Carey

Cheryl Cole has apparently given a concession to her critics, admitting that her voice is no match for fellow female superstar Mariah Carey.

Cheryl has angered fans after being accused of miming on TV show The Voice, as well as giving a Jubilee performance that was widely regarded as shambolic.

According to The Sun, the singer admitted that she knows she is "no Mariah Carey."

She told the paper: "I am very aware of my ability, I know Im no Mariah Carey but I think the emotion in the song is what matters. Its making people feel what youre singing about. My new album is designed to entertain and I know when I take to the stage and I see a million little lights it really is game time."

Cheryl apparently thinks that her latest musical effort is her best, despite the tsunami of negativity that's accompanied her recent live appearances, saying: "Ive grown as a person and an artist, you can hear that in my music. I feel brand new. Im bullet proof. I feel as hard as the times Ive had but I think everything happens for a reason, even if you cant always say what that reason is."

The former X Factor judge has admitted to going on a date with the rapper Wretch 32, who worked on new track 'Screw You'.
