How to Have a Birthday Like Mariah Carey, a True Diva
Mariah Carey does not mess around when it comes to her birthday. Her big day is all about her plus awesome gifts, a glamorous meal, huge cake, and more. Now it takes a true (very wealthy) diva to have a birthday like this, but in case you're in the market, here are the necessary steps.
Step One: This is very important. Stop calling it a "birthday." Mariah does not celebrate her "birthday." Instead, she has a "327 anniversary" (she was born March 27). The superstar just had her 43rd "anniversary" last week.
Step Two: Take lots of pictures before dinner (when your makeup is fresh and dress isn't wrinkled), preferably in an expensive sports car that's being driven by your attractive significant other.
Step Three: Make sure to hire a photographer to follow you around all night so you can get snapshots like the one above. If this is too expensive, perhaps consider "hiring" a family member.
Step Four: Also take more pictures after dinner, when you've probably had a cocktail and are feeling extra great and giggly. These pictures are the real gems.
Step Five: Make sure to wear a flashy dress and white heels. They look great in photos and, really, when else can you pull off white heels?
Step Six: Take more pictures, this time do some serious-face model shots. Get your significant other to do the same. (Clearly Mr. Cannon missed the memo.)
Step Seven: Check your hair every time you get out of your convertible.
Step Eight: Be sure your cake could feed an army (you never know when friends will just show up expecting sweets) and always h! ave some ! sort of balloon arrangement in the family room. Most importantly: Make sure your big birthday present is something none of your friends have.
The present could be something like this "classic" fully restored Steinway piano from 1902. (Well done, Nick.)
Step Nine: Wear a tiara.
Step Ten: Post pictures from every step of the way on the Internet. And repeat this every year.
And there you have it! A true diva anniversary.
