Mariah Carey recruits top producers for 2013 album
Mariah Carey has been busy in the studio.
The songstress has enlisted the help of Jermaine Dupri, Bryan-Michael Cox, Hit-Boy, The Dream, Big Jim Wright and Rodney Jerkins as she prepares to release a new album later this year. The singer said shes been experimenting with new tempos, but will include signature songs, according to MTV News.
Its about making sure I have tons of good music, because at the end of the day, thats the most important thing, she said, adding that the album will have a lot more raw ballads than people might expect.
She plans to collaborate with Q-Tip and DJ Cassidy before the release, although her 2012 single with Meek Mill and Rick Ross, Triumphant, might not be included on the new album. There are no details on the release, but she told Ryan Seacrest she wants the album out ASAP.
Careys last studio album, Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel, released in 2009, peaked at number 3 on the Billboard 200. The hit Obsessed is still popular today, Billboard reports.
Carey released the single Almost Home for Oz the Great and Powerful, a Disney film set for release on March 8.
