Mariah Carey has posted pictures of herself jumping into a swimming pool in her evening dress.

The 'Almost Home' singer posted the snaps of herself having a "mermaid moment" on Twitter earlier today (April 3).

She posted: "having a mermaid moment in the nice water..and then it rained!"

Carey is currently enjoying a family holiday with husband Nick Cannon and children Morocco and Monroe. The couple are celebrating their fifth wedding anniversary.

The 43-year-old is currently appearing as a judge on American Idol alongside Nicki Minaj, Keith Urban and Randy Jackson, and is also working on a new album.

When asked earlier this year about the project, Carey told Ryan Seacrest that she hopes to release new material "ASAP".

"I'm really working hard," she added.
