Mariah Carey wants Lenny Kravitz as new 'Idol' judge

Mariah Carey, the newest and only confirmed judge on American Idol, threw out a hint yesterday as to who should be her critiquing counterpart.

After Carey reportedly expressed her disgust at the thought of judging American Idol with Nicki Minaj, the pop diva wants the world to know Lenny Kravitz is the route to go.

Carey tweeted a photo of herself posing with Kravitz with the caption, @AmericanIdol Whats going on? need the info!! What about this combo? :) if we could ever get him to do it!

The stylish wife of Americas Got Talent host Nick Cannon was irate at the news of Nicki Minaj joining the judges table after she was promised to be the only female.

While American Idol has yet to confirm who the new judge or judges will be, several names have come up as possible candidates including Adam Lambert, Miley Cyrus and the most recent, Kanye West.

After American Idol favorites Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez announced their departure from the show earlier this summer, producers have been frantically searching for fitting replacements.

In an effort to keep ratings up, the show is struggling to compete with rival shows The X-Factor and The Voice, which both have young, current judging panels.

Mariah announced in July she would join the show as JLos replacement.

At this rate, theres no telling who will accompany her.
