Mariah Carey To Join Nicki Minaj & P. Diddy On Stage For Comeback Performance

Now that she has whipped her post baby body back into shape, Mariah Carey has announced plans for her first live performance since giving birth to twins last year. The 'We Belong Together' singer, is set to return to the stage for the 'Plot Your Escape' concert on March 3rd. The concert will be staged throughout different cities across the U.S. with eight different acts including, Nicki Minaj , Maroon 5 and Cee-Lo Green performing across Los Angeles, New York , Chicago and New Orleans. The concert will be streamed live on the Jimmy Kimmel show. Carey will be the headlining act at New York's Gotham Hall and will be joined on staged by P. Diddy Combs . The performance will be Carey's first since giving birth to twins, Monroe and Moroccan last April. The singer is also set to take the stage in May at the Mawazine Festival in the capital of Morocco with fellow U.S. artists, LMFAO, Lenny Kravitz and Pitbull. The pop superstar will headline a free, intimate show at New York's Gotham Hall on Thursday, March 1, as part of a Plot Your Escape promo. Carey will be supported by rap mogul Sean 'Diddy' Combs in the Big Apple, while Maroon 5 will play a simultaneous concert in Chicago, Illinois, and Gavin DeGraw will perform in New Orleans, Louisiana. There will also be a concert in Los Angeles, but the line-up for that show is yet to be revealed. Only 50 tickets have been made available to the public for each gig, which will air on US talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live. Carey's last live performances took place in late 2010. She gave birth to boy and girl twins Moroccan and Monroe in April, 2011.

Mariah Carey has been one of the many grieving over the death of Whitney Houston, with the star perhaps having more reason than many of the deceased's celebrity friends to lament her passing. Carey and Houston were huge chart rivals in the 90s, both recognised for their incredible vocal ranges and diva aesthetic, selling millions in the process. It was widely believed that this rivalry turned personal as well; however the pair came together in 1998 for a collaboration on 'When You Believe,' which took the Academy Award for Best Original Song in 1999 after it featured on the DreamWorks film 'The Prince Of Egypt, and the pair became friends thereafter. The former radio presenter was first rushed to hospital during a Christmas holiday in Aspen after suffering kidney failure. He was readmitted again recently but was told by doctors that he had to slow down his work rate for the sake of his health. Nick's wife Mariah has revealed how the family have been coping with the situation. " We didn't know how big a deal it was at that moment," she told Good Morning America. " It was a gradual thing.
