Madonna beats Mariah Carey, Beyonc in VH1's 'Women in Music' poll
Mariah Carey and Beyonc were beaten into second and third place respectively in the list that aims to rank accomplishments made in the last 20 years.

Lady GaGa and Adele complete the top five, with the late Whitney Houston coming in sixth place.
Britney Spears finishes just outside the top ten at number 11, with Rihanna just squeezing into the top 20 in 20th position.

Florence + the Machine, Spice Girls and Avril Lavigne are among the female artists to finish elsewhere inside the top 100, at 60, 81 and 84 respectively.
The poll is part of VH1's Greatest series of shows, and will be broadcast in five segments each night this week at 10pm ET/PT.
Madonna recently confirmed that Britney Spears will not feature on her upcoming album MDNA.
