Mariah Carey teases new music for summer 2012

Mariah Carey has revealed plans to release new music this summer.

The singer has begun the campaign for her 13th studio album by posting a teaser image promising fans new music during summer 2012.

"So.. Summer 2012.. Been in the lab, mixing up some concoctions for you, hope you like it!! #MCSummer2012," Carey tweeted.

Carey's husband Nick Cannon previously revealed that becoming a mother has been the inspiration behind the diva's new material.

"Our new family has definitely given her a great new source of inspiration and creativity," he said.

Carey's 13th studio record follows 2009's Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel, which reached number three on the US Billboard 200 and 23 on the UK chart.
