Did Mariah Carey And Nicki Minaj Coordinate Their Outfits On American Idol?

Watch out, y'all, there may be trouble brewing on the American Idol set, and it's giving us traumatic flashbacks to our high school days. We had to do a double-take last night, when Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj took to the judges table in...wait, are they wearing the same dress? THE HORROR! Both Mariah and Nicki, notorious rivals, had decided to wear solid coral dresses for the Motown episode of the show, and although the cuts were definitely not identical, it seemed like it had to be something of an unfortunate coincidence. Did you ever show up to a school dance in the EXACT same dress as your sworn frenemy? Nightmarish. To add insult to injury, yesterday was Mariah's birthday. The bright side, though: they both look amazing in this color.

If it were any other two stars we would assume the pair were pulling a totally cute "on Wednesdays we wear pink" type of thing, but we all know Mariah and Nicki just aren't friends like that. Now, we don't usually participate in this variety of speculation, and girl crime is the opposite of our steez, but we just HAD to say SOMETHING. The good news is that the cut of the dresses are different enough that we don't TOTALLY feel like there's a twinsies thing happening here. Mariah went for a cap sleeved a-line dress with a plunging v-neckline and gathering at the waist, ! while Nicki took a slightly more modern route and wore her coral in a super tight sheath with short sleeves and a subtle diamond necklace. While we hope this doesn't lead to extra drama for two of our favorite women, we have to say we're going to be paying closer attention on Tuesday nights from now on.
