Glastonbury organisers deny Mariah Carey and Prince headliner rumours

Glastonbury festival organiser Emily Eavis has denied reports that Prince and Mariah Carey are in talks to headline the festival later this year.

The superstars have both been linked to headline slots on the Pyramid Stage over the past weeks but Emily is has taken to Twitter to deny the claims.

Mariah's spokesman has also shrugged off the reports saying, "This is just an idea. It is unlikely that Mariah Carey will play at Glastonbury this year, because of her current commitments with her new album and American Idol."

Glastonbury festival traditionally announces its headliners at the beginning of the year, but instead they will make a formal confirmation of this year's acts much closer to the event.

Nas, Disclosure, Sub Focus and AlunaGeorge were among the first wave of acts confirmed to play Glastonbury's revamped Dance Village.The Rolling Stones, Arctic Monkeys and Rihanna have all been linked to headline slots at Glastonbury 2013.

Glastonbury 2013 will take place on 28 - 30 June 2013.
