Mariah Carey is proving fierce competition for Nicki Minaj on the set of American Idol. Shes not only bringing out the claws for the show, but in the battle with her weight as well-which she is clearly winning with t! he shot taken of her on a beach in Australia during her tour! Mariah Carey, a panel judge on the 12th season of American Idol and iconic vocalists, has struggled losing weight after giving birth to her twins, Moroccan and Monroe. Shes joined forces with Jenny Craig to help her lose the extra baby weight, and has lost a whopping 70 lbs! In an interview with Rosie ODonnell, Mariah spoke about the incredible numbers she was pulling at the beginning-numbers that would give Biggest Loser contestants a run for their money! The first week, I lost 40 lbs. of just water, Mariah said. It was just water, initially. When I started with the program, I lost at least 30 lbs. of weight that needed to be lost. Mariah also graces the cover of Mays Shape Magazine, saying that the partnership allowed her to discover more about healthy weight loss than ever before. I realize that 90 percent of losing weight is my diet. It seems that shes lost every ounce of that baby weight, and plans to keep it that way. Today my workout routine is more about getting and staying toned, she says. And for me, that means either taking hour-long walks a few times a week or jumping in the pool three or four days a week to do 45 minutes of aquatic exercises. The whole point of this is not just like: Oh, hey, look at me and my weight loss, Im fantastic, Mariah dished, Its really health.
While its unknown if she actually went for a dip on the shores of Australia to get in her aquatic exercise, she seemed to be enjoying herself and feeling incredibly confident in the swimsuit!
