Mariah Carey has said that she is proud of how her music changes peoples lives.

Talking to ET Online, the 'We Belong Together' songstress expressed how much it means to her when she hears how her music has changed her fans lives.

"When someone comes up to me and says, 'You changed my life with this song,' and I know that I wrote that song from my own experience, there's nothing that comes close to that," she said.

Currently sitting on the panel of American Idol as a judge, the 'Shake It Off' hitmaker, who received a BMI Icon award on Friday's (07.09.12) Urban Awards, is happy people have realised how much work she put into her records.

With stars like Eric Benet and Jermaine Dupri paying tribute to the star, performing her hits at the award show, the Mariah is looking forward to her fans listening to her upcoming album release.

She said, "I'm working on it every day, something different."

Adding , "The babies are inspiring many moments of different types of songs and stuff."

Sounds like 16-month-old twins Morrocan and Monroe are going to bring out an even more inspirational side to Mariah.
