TV Roundup: Auditions Start in Two Weeks and 'American Idol' Still Only Has One Judge
Mariah Carey might be judging American Idol all on her own (which you know she would love). In other small screen news, FX has announced a premiere date for American Horror Story: Asylum and Jimmy Kimmel is playing practical jokes on unsuspecting kids again.
There's also talk that Idol producers have asked Randy Jackson to step down as a judge and take on a mentor position, but that hasn't been officially announced and Jackson reportedly hasn't signed his contract. Further complicating this already complicated issue is the rumor that producers are still looking for a second male judge to join the judging panel. No one specific has been associated with that fourth spot, but everyone from Nick Jonas (who recently signed on as an X Factor celebrity mentor, so he's looking unlikely) to Adam Lambert to Kanye West has been mentioned.
If worse comes to worse we all know that Mariah would just love to have the spotlight all to herself. But somehow we doubt American Idol producers are quite as thrilled about the prospect.

After having parents pretend to eat their kids' Halloween candy and give them terrible Christmas presents, Jimmy Kimmel is up to hilarious no good again. This time he had parents give their kids new back-to-school outfits that were ugly, unfashionable, or just plain strange. Our personal favorite? The parents who give their son a burlap sack because the school wants students to dress more like Jesus. Press play to check it out!Just a couple of weeks after announcing that she was exiting The Good Wife because of a head injury, Kristin Chenoweth returned to the CBS drama. I was able to go back a shoot a short scene with Alan Cumming on The Good Wife #blessed, the actress tweeted on Friday. Chenoweth was cast as a hard-hitting reporter who makes trouble for Peter's political campaign, but the actress had to step down after she was struck in the head by a piece of scaffolding while filming. Producers cast Chenoweth's former GCB co-star Miriam Shor in a similar role, but made it clear that Chenoweth's character would be welcomed back whenever the actress was healthy.
