Mariah Carey's bling twins

The baby appears blinged-up in a set of photos of the singer's twins, with husband Nick Cannon.

And while Monroe is draped in the precious stones and pearls, brother Moroccan gets in on the superstar act with a pair of shades, a dollar-sign necklace and a microphone.

It's the first time the proud couple have released shots of the six-month-old twins.

The adorable twosome have been kept under wraps since their birth in April 30, on the couple's third wedding anniversary.

But Mariah and Nick posted these intimate family pictures on the internet over the weekend.

They wrote: "We deliberated for so long about how to reveal the first pictures of our babies to the world.

"We just didn't want to do the typical thing and display them in a tabloid (not that there's anything wrong with that).

"We decided to share this beautiful experience with you in a special intimate portrait of our family."

And they added: "Parenthood is absolutely the most life changing experience we could ever have imagined. The love we feel for these babies is above and beyond anything we'd ever dreamed of."

The cute pictures show the babies in duck dressing gowns, sleepsuits and nestling in mum's arms.

And one shows the entire family dressed as Pixar's superhero characters The Incredibles.

The twins also made their TV debut this weekend, when their proud parents invited chat show host Barbara Walters into their Ne! w York h ome.

And Mariah revealed that she got pregnant after seeking fertility treatment in the wake of a devastating miscarriage.

She said. "The main thing I did that was tough, was to go on progesterone like every month ... and then when I was pregnant, I had to stay with the progesterone for 10 weeks.

"It minimises the chance of miscarriage by 50 per cent."

And Nick admitted he was apprehensive about becoming a dad.

He said: "It was good news but it was scary news at the same time."

And Mariah added: "I don't think I understood the enormity and the magnitude of what it really does to your body. Like it's not just, 'Oh, you don't look pretty and you have a bump.'

"Unless somebody's been through it, it's difficult to understand what I went through because my pregnancy was very unique in terms of what happened to me."

Despite their cute poses with the microphone and gems, Nick is keen for his kids to avoid the trappings of stardom and steer clear of the entertainment industry.

He said: "I want to make sure we get education first. Society puts too much on entertainment and entertainers.

"They praise them like they're royalty, especially in America, where it should really be about the teachers or, you know, the doctors.

"I want them to be able to sing as beautifully as their mother. I want them to be able to play instruments and everything. But I want them go get a Ph.D.'!

A nd his wife joked: "You can help them with their homework because I know I'm not going to know anything about it."
