Mariah Carey, Stevie Wonder to receive BET Honors

Mariah Carey and Stevie Wonder are to receive awards at the 2012 BET Honors.

Stevie Wonder, AAPD Image Award Recipient at a Gala Celebrating 20 Years of The Americans With Disabilities Act

The ceremony annually hands out trophies to people who have contributed to African-American culture during their careers.

Carey has been named 'Best Entertainer', while Wonder has been recognised in the musical arts category.

Director Spike Lee and poet Maya Angelou are also among the names to be awarded during the event.

The BET Honors will be hosted by actress Gabrielle Union at the Warner Theater in Washington DC on January 14, 2012.

Whitney Houston, P Diddy and Queen Latifah were awarded at 2010's ceremony.
