Navy Christmas video makes Mariah Carey's day

The crew of a British warship have created a viral smash-hit by miming to the words of Mariah Carey's All I Want For Christmas Is You.

The four-minute video shows servicemen and women onboard HMS Ocean dancing along to the 1994 song above and below deck.

At the end of the clip, the crew lie on the helicopter carrier's deck to spell out the words "Merry Xmas from HMS Ocean".

The clip has been viewed by tens of thousands of people since it was posted on YouTube last week.

Even Carey has watched the clip and sent a message of thanks to the crew via Twitter.

"This is the best thing I've ever seen, you guys just made my day! Happy Happy Christmas!!!," she tweeted.

HMS Ocean served as the launch pad for Apache attack helicopters during the military campaign in support of Libyan rebels fighting Gaddafi's forces in Libya.

The video was intended as a festive message to the crew's friends and family.

The ship is due to return home to Plymouth on Friday, well in time for Christmas.
