Mazza is amongst the first celebs to wish you 'happy new year!' as she celebrates Down Under

Whilst we're putting the final touches of glitter to our eye make-up and working out who we'd like to snog at midnight (what are the chances of Ryan Gosling showing up in our local pub, do you think?), everyone that lives in Australia is already reaching for the paracetamol and staring the mother of all hangovers square in the eye, as New Year's Eve has been and gone.

Amongst those likely nursing a sore head are Mariah Carey and husband Nick Cannon, who were in Oz when the clock struck midnight.

The singer tweeted a picture of herself and her hubby with the caption 'Happy New Year from Australia!!!!' Mazza sported a sexy red dress and a sparkly headband for the occasion, whilst Nick accessorised with a glass of champers. We like his style.

Mariah's yacht ensemble isn't massively practical, is it?

The couple arrived in sunny Australia with twins Moroccan and Monroe a few days ago after spending Christmas in the American ski resort of Aspen.

Yesterday the family spent the day aboard a yacht, with Mariah wearing a typically unsuitable outfit for the outing, six-inch heels and all.

But the Carey-C! annons (Cannon-Careys? Canareys??) weren't the only stars who were Down Under for NYE.

Is it just us, or does Keith look superimposed in this snap?

Keith Urban saw in 2013 with wife Nicole Kidman in Sydney, with the country music star tweeting a snap of himself in front of the city's infamous bridge as an explosion of fireworks went off at midnight.

Spice Girl Mel B also celebrated in Sydney - the scary one posted a rather blurry picture of her with her children and husband Stephen Belafonte with the caption 'Happy New Year yippee Sydney fireworks da bomb!! Love our family and goodbye 2012 hello 2013.'
