Mariah Carey's manager 'shoots himself after row with ex-wife'

Hip-hop bigwig Chris Lighty has committed suicide by shooting himself in the head after an argument with his ex-wife. He was 44.

Lighty had been a longstanding manager of '50 Cent', 'Diddy', 'Ja Rule' and 'Carey'.

The New York Daily News confirmed this with police sources.

According to the New York Daily News, Law enforcement sources claimed that Lighty, who divorced his wife last year, may have been dealing with financial struggles, including owing about USD 5 million to the IRS, the Daily Mail reported.

The tragic death of the celebrity manager at 11:30 am on Thursday saw his fans and industry friends taking to twitter to mourn his death.

"Hard to believe it is true but RIP to my friend Chris Lighty. gone too soon," Justin Bieber's manager Scooter Braun wrote.
