Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj appear in the first trailer for the new season of American Idol.

The new judges have been warring on-set of the auditions for the talent show, but appear separately in this new promo clip for the show's 2013 season.

No footage from the tryouts is shown, but the four judges - who also include Keith Urban and Randy Jackson - are seen promising that dreams will come true.

Ryan Seacrest, the show's host, also features.

A major shake-up was made to the panel following the departures of Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler, with Lopez, Minaj and Urban bringing the total number of judges up to four.
